I have been leading evidence-based parenting groups and providing one-on-one parenting support to parents and caregivers for 15 years. Certified in multiple parenting curricula, I assist caregivers who have children ranging in age from newborn through the teen years. Circle of Security became one of my “favorite” curricula, as it was the most effective tool in my own parenting journey.

Playful Possibilities was founded in 2019 on the belief that we all have the power and responsibility to support the children and young people within our community to achieve their full potential. I’d seen mental health services that were stuck behind barriers preventing people getting the care they deserve or delivered in such a clinical manner that they had lost the heart that brings people into the helping field. I knew we could be doing better. So off I set to build a practice full of fun, hope and packed to the brim with evidence based interventions that could be delivered in a simple genuine human manner. Now Playful Possibilities focuses on consulting, education and supporting the community to build on the remarkable capacity that children, families and those who care for them already have.

We are excited to be offering Circle of Security every Tuesday evenings for Families of Fort McMurray and every Thursday in our Rural communities partners.

Wuchopperen Health Service LTD run COSP within our Children and Family Centre each term. We offer this program to parents with children aged 0-8 years. This program is a relationship-based parenting program to help parents understands their child’s emotional world and strengthen skills in observing and connecting with their child. By better understanding and responding to the child’s needs, they can provide their child with more security.

I have been a nurse for about 7 years. My background is in maternal-newborn, early childhood and pediatrics. I am currently a school nurse and refer families to COSP. I have a option for evenings and weekends since I work a full-time job. Summers are more flexible.

Eva L. Queen, with 25 years of experience in healthcare advocacy and support for persons with disabilities and their families, is a dedicated COSP (Circle of Security Parenting) facilitator. Utilizing the evidence-based Circle of Security curriculum, Eva empowers parents of young children, both with and without disabilities, by fostering secure parent-child relationships. Through this program, she helps parents better understand their child’s emotional needs, develop stronger bonds, and build a foundation of trust and resilience that supports healthy development in all children.

I have extensive experience working with children, young people and families. I have facilitated Circle of Secuirty in an NGO setting within the child protection sector. I have gained plenty of knowledge and experience working with a diverse range of people and being able to facilitate this program appropriately with individuals experiencing mental health issues, domestic violence, poverty, inter-generational trauma, drug and alcohol issues.
