CoSP is our strategy of choice as the first step in our holistic approach to behavioural health and wellbeing and we specialise in helping parents of children with disability or behaviours that challenge. We offer individual or small group sessions, either face-to-face or remote, and can travel further afield if required. Session times are flexible and guided by need. Please call; we’d love to help.

Hi, I am a nurse and parenting educator for Healthy Beginnings through MaryLanning Healthcare. We are a non-profit organization who receives funding from our hospital, grants and other donations. We serve families from prenatal until the youngest child in the home is age 3. Our primary focus is offering help and encouragement for parents and families in our community. Along with teaching COSP to our Healthy Beginning’s parents, I also provide classes to our community free of charge. Welcome to Cedar Path Counseling & Holistic Services that specializes in trauma-informed mental health practice for all ages, providing the option of culturally relevant counselling services that are strength-based, growing & connecting together from your inherent wisdom and resilience. With gratitude, Tamara acknowledges and honours the cultural frameworks learned from the land, our ancestors, communities, elders, cultural conductors, knowledge keepers and all of creation’s medicine for passing on their wisdom and knowledge to share from her medicine bundle to yours.

Tamara is also a registered Certified Synergetic Play Therapist, Certified Grief Educator with David Kessler Grief Institute and holds a Concurrent Disorder Graduate Certificate (Aboriginal Specialization). Through the Agate Institute, Tamara has completed the EMDR Adult, Complex Trauma & Dissociation Specialist Intensive Program, as well as, the EMDR Parent, Child & Attachment Specialist Intensive Program. Tamara has also completed her Basic EMDR Training – Level 1 & 2 in 2009 and again in 2018; the Certified Trauma Integration Practitioner Core Training; Theraplay; CBT 1-2 and the Grief Recovery Edu-Therapy Specialization to name a few.

Most importantly, Tamara loves to facilitate the Circle of Security Parenting program integrated from a cultural perspective!

I’ve been an APS registered psychologist for over 15 years in the public, private and forensic sectors in and around Ballarat and Western Victoria. I have worked with children, adolescents and adults experiencing a diverse range of mental health issues. You may also meet one of our therapy dogs who accompanies me regularly to our Ballarat office. I am highly experienced working with people and families experiencing significant mental health issues including people within corrections, abnormal psychlogy, and personality disorders. I am extensively trained and highly experienced in CBT, ACT, DBT, Mindfulness, Parenting and Schema Therapy.

Think Talk Do, where I work, has been providing face-to-face psychological services to children, tweens adolescents, adults and families in the Ballarat and Goldfields districts of Western Victoria for over 10 years. We don’t just talk the talk, here at TTD we walk the walk. We value each and every client and seek to understand their individual situation and issues. We strive to provide evidence-based best practice assessments interventions and therapy to actually help you – and we strive to keep our services affordable. That’s why so many of our clients speak highly of us, refer family or friends or are happy to talk to us in the community where we live.

I am passionate about supporting families and caregivers build stronger and more sustainable relationships with their children through empathetic understanding and a non-judgmental approach. I completed COSP training in 2023 and love working with mothers. I usually run groups during lunch time PST.

In my individual practice, I work with children, teens, and adults to build awareness and understanding of the your emotional experience in life and how the past has informed and influenced behavior and interpersonal relationships. I come from a curious and empathetic place. I start with listening and learning about you to create a safe and judgement-free therapeutic environment.
