My name is Melissa and I’ve been living in north of Sydney, Australia for about 4 years. I was a teacher for 12 years before starting my business, Your Connection Counts – Parent Mentorship and Coaching. My passion is supporting parents on their journey for better understanding of and connection to their children.

I love helping parents understand more about child development, developmentally normal behaviours, how human nervous systems impact behaviour, coregulation, and parenting through connection and compassion.

In addition to my education degree I am a registered Circle of Security Parenting Facilitator and I have a website as well.

Working with community – co-facilitating groups in Neighbourhood Houses for parents with children aged 12 months – 4 years has been the focus so far

After having worked for over a decade in forensic contexts and with clients severely affected by adverse childhood events and complex trauma, Sarah has developed a passion for working with parents and caregivers who are embarking on the journey of raising and supporting infants right through to adults. Using the well-researched and structured framework of Circle of Security Parenting, Sarah has the intention of safely supporting small groups of parents/caregivers to explore their beliefs and expectations and how they might foster safety and security within the relationship with the children.
