I am deeply rooted in my communities in the Americas including Salida, Colorado, US and Teacapan, Sinaloa, Mexico. I am a mother of seven and grandmother (“Yaya”) to a growing tribe of littles. My therapeutic approaches are rooted in trauma informed anti-racist therapies including: person-centered, feminist, attachment-based, and EMDR.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) specializing in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and working with parents and caregivers of all ages, particularly during the sensitive periods of development in perinatal, infant, and early childhood.

This journey began for me when I was 17 years old. I was about to give birth to my first child. I was scared and I was alone. Little did I know I was about to embark on the most transformative journey of my life. A journey that would lead to a lifetime legacy.

This journey of motherhood became an amazing opportunity for me to transform fear and loneliness into strength and power as it became a part of who I am for good in the world. I leaned into the opportunity; I studied, learned, and grew.

I became an amazing mother, an expert in my field, dedicating my life and career to helping others heal. Supporting parents, caregivers, infants, children, and families thrive, and COSP has helped me to do this.

I understand adversity intimately, and I believe we all deserve healing. We deserve to thrive. We deserve to be connected to our passion. We deserve connection.

I have been offering COSP to families since 2008 and played a part in the piloting of COSP in Colorado, and I have been actively offering COSP as part of my professional practice ever since!

COSP has been tranformational in my professional and family life. We can transform our adversity into who we are for good. We have the power to collectively transform our world into a place of health and vitality for all future generations, and COSP can help us do just that!

I am currently utilizing COSP in my role as a Therapeutic Access coach. In this role I work with parents whose children have been apprehended and are working towards reunification. The reflective practice that is encouraged by the COSP program creates a safe space for families to understand their past behaviours and parenting choices from a growth mindset, rather than a place of shame and blame. This type of programming has been run one on one with caregivers, but I also have experience running virtual groups for foster and adoptive parents. Depending on the location, I am available through the week and in the evenings.
