As a healthcare professional with over a decade of experience supporting individuals with mental health challenges and substance use disorders, I bring a profound, compassionate understanding of the complexities that individuals and families face. I have worked extensively with diverse populations, honing my practice to be sensitive to the needs of those with lived experience. My education in child and youth care has given me a solid foundation for understanding human development, and it has informed my approach to attachment theory, and healing across all age groups.

Through my trauma-informed lens, I see firsthand how attachment, or the lack thereof, can ripple through families and communities, influencing mental health outcomes well into adulthood. My goal is to help caregivers better understand their children’s emotional needs, so we can cultivate safe, nurturing environments where children feel secure and confident to explore the world around them.

My practice is deeply informed by my belief that strong, resilient families build strong, resilient communities. When we nurture a child’s early attachments, we lay the groundwork for future success, healthy relationships, and overall well-being.

It is important for me to acknowledge that I come from Irish ancestry and that I am a settler on these lands, living and working on the unceded traditional territory of the Sinixt, Ktunaxa, and Sylix peoples. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve these communities and continue learning from the land and its people.

By facilitating programs like COSP, I aim to create spaces where parents and caregivers can deepen their understanding of their children’s emotional world, ultimately leading to healthier, happier futures for the next generation. If you’re looking for a facilitator who brings warmth, expertise, and a trauma-informed perspective, I’d love to work with you to support the well-being of families in your community.

I specialise in trauma counselling, drawing on over 20 years of experience in the field. My practice is grounded in Attachment Theory and a Trauma-Informed Framework, ensuring that clients feel safe, supported, and understood. I integrate a Person-Centred Approach, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, and Strengths-Based Practices, tailoring my approach to meet individual needs.

As a Circle of Security Parenting (COSP) facilitator, I help parents, caregivers, and families deepen their understanding of attachment, improve relationships, and foster secure connections with their children. My work is particularly beneficial for those navigating the impact of trauma, as COSP aligns with my foundational frameworks.

I offer flexible session times, including some evening and weekend groups, to accommodate different schedules. My practice is inclusive, supporting parents from all backgrounds, including fathers who want to strengthen their parenting confidence and relationships.

Through a compassionate and collaborative approach, I empower individuals and families to build resilience, develop healthier relational patterns, and create lasting positive change.
