I currently provide individual and family therapy services in outpatient, in-home, and foster care settings. I have received additional training in assessing, diagnosing, and treating children from birth through age five. I am trained in providing Child Parent Psychotherapy to children and their caregiver(s).

Julie has a private practice as a perinatal social worker and family intervention practitioner on the south side of Brisbane. She is an accredited social worker with the AASW and has found Circle of Security to be very helpful in working with parents within group contexts or one on one.

She is also a qualified Parents Under Pressure Therapist and is committed to ongoing professional development. She has recently completed a Certificate in Perinatal and Infant Mental Health through the Centre for Perinatal Psychology and is currently undertaking Possums training – Neuroprotective Developmental Care. Julie works from a position informed by attachment theory and family systems theory and from a client centred and strengths perspective.

Julie believes there are many good ways to parent, and her goal as a therapist is to help Mums and Dads grow in their connection with their babies and children, to be able to read their little ones’ cues, to assist them in increasing their parenting skills and to develop confidence as parents.
Julie is Mum to seven grown children, and Grandma to two little ones (with two on the way).

My hours of work are 9am – 5pm
